Barbering program students in North Dakota must complete 1550 hours of training at an accredited North Dakota barbering school in order to become take a test to become a Barber's Apprentice. Apprentices then work for a year as an apprentice to a licensed Barber Practitioner before they take another test to become Barber Practitioners themselves. The North Dakota Board of Barber Examiners and Barber's Association regulate the practice of barbering in the state. The Barber's Association is composed of all licensed Barber Practitioners in North Dakota.
