Mississippi Nail Training Requirements

In Mississippi, you will need to meet several requirements to become licensed nail tech. You will need to be at least 17 and have a GED or high school diploma. The state also requires you be able to read, speak and write English. You will need to complete a course of at least 350 hours studying manicuring and pedicuring theory and practice. This course must take at least 9 weeks. Once your classes are complete, you will contact the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology, and arrange to take your written and practical exams. Once you pass the exams, you will have your first nail technician license.
