Idaho Cosmetology Licensing Requirements

The Gem State

Licenses Available: Cosmetology, Electrology, Esthetics, Nail Technology

Required Hours:
Cosmetology: 2000 hours (or 4000 apprentice hours)
Electrology: 500 hours + 300 hours Skin Care (or 1600 apprentice hours)
Esthetics: 600 hours (or 1200 apprentice hours)
Nail Technology: 400 hours (or 800 apprentice hours)

Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 16 1/2 years of age and finished two years of High School or its equivalent.

Reciprocity: Reciprocity granted to those applicants whose State has the same requirements or greater than Idaho. Work experience is a consideration if it is within the past three years.
