Missouri: The Show-Me State

If you are interested in getting your Missouri cosmetology license or other beauty license, below is all the information you need to know about getting licensed in the Show-Me State!

Licenses Available:
Cosmetologist

Esthetician
Manicurist

Required Hours:
Cosmetogist: 1500 Beauty School Hours (3000 Apprentice)
Esthetician: 750 Esthetics School Hours
Manicurist: 400 Nail School Hours (780 Apprentice)

License Requirements:
Must 17 be at least years of age.
Must have at least 10th grade education or a G.E.D. certificate.

Reciprocity:
Granted to those individuals whose requirements for licensure are equal to or greater than those of Missouri.

Renewal:
Missouri cosmetology licenses expire on September 30 of each odd-numbered year. Barber licenses expire on February 28 of each even-numbered year. To renew your license in Missouri, the following must be turned into the MO cosmetology board:
