Licenses Available:
Cosmetologist
, Apprentice Cosmetologist, Senior Cosmetologist
Electrologist
Esthetician, Apprentice Esthetician
Nail Technician, Apprentice Nail Technician
Makeup Artist

Required Hours:
Cosmetologist: 1500 Cosmetology School Hours (24 Mos as Registered Apprentice)
Electrologist: 600 Electrolysis Training Hours
Esthetician: 600 Esthetics School Hours (12 Mos as Registered Apprentice)
Nail Technician: 250 Nail School Hours (8 Mos as Registered Apprentice)

License Requirements:
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Must have 9th grade education or equivalent

Reciprocity:
An individual who possesses a current license in another state and who can provide certification that their license was obtained under the same or greater standards as required in Maryland, and is in good standing is eligible for a license by endorsement. 

Renewal:
Maryland cosmetology licenses must be renewed every 2 years. The renew your license in Maryland, the following must be submitted to the MD cosmetology board:
- Renewal form
- Fee
