New Mexico Nail Training Requirements

Many schools are located throughout the state become certified as a manicurist or nail technician. New Mexico nail tech schools teach a curriculum of at least 350 hours. Students learn to complete manicures, pedicures and basic nail care and beautifying services. In order to apply for nail tech school, a student must first be at least 17 years old and have completed at least 2 years of high school. After completing nail school, students take the written and practical exams administered by the New Mexico Barbers and Cosmetologists Board.
