Delaware Cosmetology Licensing Requirements

The first State. December, 1787

Licenses Available:
Barber, Cosmetologist, Electrologist, Esthetician, Nail Technician

Required Hours:
Barber: 1500 Hours
Cosmetologist: 1500 Hours
Electrologist: 300 Hours (or 600 Apprentice)
Esthetician: 300 Hours
Nail Technician: 125 Hours

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have completed two years of high school or its equivalent.

Reciprocity: Granted to those applicants from another state whose requirements are equal to those of Delaware. Work experience will be considered if applicant has less requirements, provided he or she can prove work experience of at least one year.
