Nevada: The Silver State

If you are interested in getting your Nevada cosmetology license or other beauty license, below is all the information you need to know about getting licensed in the Silver State!

Licenses Available:
Aesthetician

Cosmetologist
Electrologist
Hair Designer
Manicurist

Required Hours:
Aesthetician: 600 Esthetics School Hours
Cosmetologist: 1800 Beauty School Hours
Electrologist: 500 Electrolysis Training Hours (1000 Apprentice)
Hair Designer: 1200 Cosmetology School Hours
Manicurist: 500 Nail School Hours

License Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have 10th grade education or equivalent.

Reciprocity:
All applicants must apply to the board, pay a $100 fee, be at least 18 years of age and have the equivalent of a 10th grade education. The applicant must have passed a nationally recognized written test in the state of licensure. 

Renewal:
Nevada cosmetology licenses expire June 30 in every odd-numbered year. Instructors are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education each renewal period. To renew your license in Nevada, the following is due to the NV cosmetology board:
