If you are interested in getting your Mississippi cosmetology license or other beauty license, below is the information you need to know about getting licensed in the Magnolia State!

Licenses Available:
Cosmetology
Esthetics
Manicuring
Wigology

Required Hours:
Cosmetology: 1500 Cosmetology School Hours
Esthetics: 600 Esthetician School Hours
Manicuring: 350 Nail School Hours
Wigology: 300 Cosmetology School Hour

Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Must have 12th grade education or equivalent.

Reciprocity:
Available to people at least 17 years of age, who have completed training equivalent to or greater than required in Mississippi.

Renewal:
Mississippi cosmetology licenses last for two years from the date of qualification. No continuing education is required to renew, unless you wish to become a "Master Cosmetologist" by attaining 16 additional hours of continuing education the first year, and 8 hours each succeeding year. To renew your license in Mississippi, the following must be submitted to the MS cosmetology board:
- Renewal form
- Fee
- Proof of continuing education hours (Master Cosmetologists only)
