Montana Beauty and Cosmetology Schools

Montana

Studying at one of the many beauty schools in Montana is a great option. Students can learn how to cut and style hair in a professional setting, and they will enjoy the sights and opportunities that are found throughout the state. Montana is known for its natural splendor, and there are several parks in the state. Yellowstone National Park is just one of the many areas that appeal to locals and visitors alike. This park stretches for thousands of miles and is known for its hot water geysers like Old Faithful.

Cutting and styling hair are just one of the things that students at beauty schools in Montana learn. The schools also teach about manicures and pedicures. Learning will cover all of the areas that are required for students to earn their Montana cosmetology license. Some schools require a high school diploma, and basic math skills may be required. However, most will work with applicants to help them with these requirements.

Montana has high standards for its cosmetologists, and professionals need 2,000 hours of class work before they can get their state license. Nail technicians need 350 hours, electrologists requires 600 hours and estheticians will need 650 hours in the class to get their license. These requirements are easily met by one of the excellent beauty schools in Montana. Continuing education is also required, and most professionals attend refresher courses throughout the year.

Getting a job in a local salon or day spa requires a license, and the benefits are numerous. Professionals can expect to earn about $26,000 a year. This is the national average, but the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates show that Montana professionals will earn $25,490. This is a little less than the national average, but the state does not have the large cities and expensive rents that are found in many other states.
