Kentucky Nail Training Requirements

Nail tech school students in Kentucky learn to care for natural and artificial nails; apply tips, wraps and nail art; and to perform hand and foot care for their clients. They learn about important safety and sanitation procedures and the technology used in modern nail salons. Kentucky students must complete a 600-hour nail tech program, and then pass a written exam. Once that is complete, a practical exam is taken. When both exams have been completed successfully, the initial nail technician license is issued by the Kentucky State Board of Hairdressers & Cosmetologists.
