About Our School

The Cuyahoga Valley Career Center's Cosmetology program prepares students for the State Board of Cosmetology exam and can help students discover their enthusiasm and creativity in the cosmetology field. We are conveniently located in Brecksville, Ohio, and offer free parking.

Cuyahoga Valley Career Center is approved by the Ohio Board of Cosmetology to provide students with the education they need to become professionals in various cosmetology careers. Our graduates also have a 100% pass rate on the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology licensing exam!

In an industry where new techniques and products are constantly emerging, our program's coursework covers a variety of topics in hairstyling, professional skin care, and nail maintenance and treatments. We also offer students an affordable tuition rate and the opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom to practical experience in the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Cosmetology Clinic.

Cosmetology Program

At Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, we keep our class size small, which can help students in the Cosmetology program complete the 1,500 hours of training that is required of them. Our quality instruction, including classroom lecture and practical experience, allows students to learn a variety of techniques and skills, such as:

• Chemical properties of products
• Anatomy and physiology of the head, face, and arm
• Facial treatments, makeup and skincare
• Hair shampooing, sets and styles, shaping, coloring/highlighting/lowlighting, chemical relaxing, and permanent waving
• Manicures and pedicures
• Communication skills
• Preparation for employment
• Customer service
