Risk associated with waxing can be considerable with so many variables to consider, application tool; some still use the metal spatula or roll on method instead of disposable spatulas, and the risk of an operator double dipping is the most common problem. I feel the best alternative to waxing, and the safest is sugaring hair removal. It is less painful as it only adheres to the hair and not the skin, so less risk of skinning and bruising. One piece of sugar application, one piece can do a whole leg if the operator is a good one and no double dipping and since the operator is using a gloved hand no cross contamination. If operator has to use another piece of sugar, removal of glove and another one applied is all that is needed. I feel more school should be teaching this method instead of waxing, Clean up is much less toxic also, as it cleans up with soap and hot water, then bed can be sprayed done with disinfectant.
